About My Work
I'm Allen Thomason, a Producer, Audio Engineer, and Industry Consultant based in Los Angeles and New Orleans. My musical journey kicked off in 1988 when I won a national piano performance competition in classical music at just eight years old. In 1999, I started my first company, Stranger Productions, in New Orleans, producing events and providing PA systems for venues like the House of Blues and The New Orleans Voodoo Festival, until Hurricane Katrina forced us to close in 2005.
I released my first album, "Inside The Chaos," in 2001, and my second, "Fetish," in 2004. After graduating from The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Phoenix, Arizona in 2006, I embarked on a project that led to the "Chemical City Project," published by various indie labels in 2008. I moved to Los Angeles in 2011, where I began working with non-profit organizations like Harmonium and Insomniac Events Consciousness Group.
By 2014, I had assisted in the surround mix for The Doors' "Riders On The Storm" and was coordinating for Insomniac Events Consciousness Group and Harmonium on the West Coast. I also opened "Electric Gypsy Studios" in Los Angeles, where I've worked with numerous artists across different genres. In 2016, I launched my second company, QNA? Works, LLC, which now encompasses all my professional endeavors.
In 2018, I released the "Children of the Planet Earth" EP and the "Straight Outta Nowhere" EP. After my son was born in 2020, I took a break to focus on family. Recently, in 2023, I finished building my new studio, The Guest House, in the Greater New Orleans area, returning to my roots to produce and record local music.
Currently, I'm actively involved in producing events and recording music in New Orleans. My latest work, "Velvet Disco," marks my first release in five years, available everywhere since November 2023. Looking ahead, I’m excited about my upcoming release, "Flight 357," scheduled for December 22.
